From Winchester Railway Station

From the main exit turn right into Station Road leading into Upper High Street. Turn right over the bridge and then left into Clifton Terrace. Walk along Clifton Terrace (large green to your right) until you reach the main road (Romsey Road).Cross Romsey Road and walk along St. James’s Terrace which is directly in front of you. At the end of the terrace cross the road (St James’ Lane) and follow the path to the left up through West Hill Cemetery. The University is situated opposite the far gate of the cemetery. To reach West Downs Campus, when you reach the main road follow it up the hill passing the prison, hospital and Hilliers Garden centre.

From Winchester Bus and Coach Station

Proceed along Broadway towards and through the pedestrianised High Street. Turn left into Southgate Street. Cross St Clements Street and take the right turn into St James Lane. After the railway bridge take the footpath through West Hill Cemetery as above.

By Car

To the main (King Alfred Campus), Sparkford Road.

If traveling by car to Winchester, approach the city by leaving the M3 at Junction 11. At the second roundabout take the B3335 following signs for Winchester.

Pass through St. Cross and take the first left after the BP Petrol Station into Ranelagh Road. Follow this road, passing under the railway bridge and then take the right fork into Sparkford road. The main campus is located a short distance up the hill on the left.

To the West Downs Conference Centre, Romsey Road.

To reach the West Downs Campus, again take Junction 11 of the M3. At the second roundabout after the motorway, take the second exit towards Badger’s Farm. Follow the road for a mile or so until reaching a mini roundabout next to Sainsbury’s Superstore.

Go straight over this roundabout until reaching a third roundabout. Take the right hand exit (Romsey Road) and continue to follow the road and signs for the Hospital. You will find the West Downs Centre and Student Village on the left hand side of the road almost opposite the County Arms Public House.
