University of Winchester, Saturday 8th April 2007 Professor Joy Carter, the University Vice Chancellor, opened conference on the 14th April and co-convenor Adrian Harris welcomed the first keynote speaker, Simon Keyes, director of St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace. An enjoyable day of presentations closed with the screening of the award winning ducumantry, De Nadia (No One). On 15th April co-convenor Dr. Christina Welch introduced the second keynote speaker, Michael Spike Hudson. While the main conference continued with a session of excellent papers and workshops, delegates from the Youth Interfaith event began their discussions. The Conference closed with a tree planting ceremony where members of several faiths offered a simple blessing. An impressive array of papers
from around the world was presented on each day and we are planning to
publish a selection in due course. We would like to thank all those involved
for helping to make the conference a great success! |
